Oral Conscious Sedation
What is conscious sedation?
If you have a fear or anxiety of being at the dentist, we offer our patients the option of comfortable, safe, and effective conscious sedation dentistry:
1. Inhalation: Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas.
2. Oral sedation prescription medication
We also offer an option of IV sedation with a dental Anesthesiologist if any of the above options will not help to ease your anxiety.
How does Oral Conscious Sedation work?
At least an hour prior to the dental procedure, the patient is asked to take a pill orally. Once the effects start to kick in, patients start feeling more relaxed, with their anxiety gradually ebbing away.
Oral Conscious Sedation is ideal for patients who have a phobia of dentists, dental clinics and dental procedures. The resultant experience is that of an anxiety-free, painless treatment.
