Extraction & Socket Prevention
If decay is extensive or tooth fractured and cannot be saved with root canal treatment and crown, the tooth may need to be removed.
Common reasons for tooth removal include:
- Severe Decay that makes tooth non-restorable
- Split tooth or Vertical Root Fractures
The use of bone graft after extraction preserves the bone width ad height and provides the foundation for future implant placement, there is also less post operative pain and discomfort vs extraction without a bone graft
